José has over 20 years of experience in M&A and Corporate Finance. Prior to founding Altamar Advisory Partners, he worked as head of client coverage at Iberia, joining the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Investment Banking team for almost 15 years. José holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from ICADE and completed the Investment Banking Institute Program at the University of Wharton. He has designed, originated and executed a great variety of transactions, among which the following are to be highlighted:

  • The acquisition of Restaurant Brands Iberia by Cinven, BCI Seguros by Mutua Madrileña, Laulagun by Portobello Capital, Cimpor by Camargo Correa, Mivisa by Blackstone, Alsa and Continental Auto by National Express, ADR Handling by FCC, the assets of Wireless of BellSouth in LatAm by Telefónica Móviles and the purchase of a stake in Iberdrola by ACS.
  • The sale of Unica Mezclas to Hexpol, 51% of Ruta del Canal to Penta, Grupo Vips to ProA Capital, the Handling Business of FCC to Swissport/PAI, Palacios to Proa Capital, WDF to Autogrill, Grupo Guascor to Dresser Rand, Itinere to CIP, the stake in Galp Brasil Upstream to Sinopec and the sale to Mitsubishi of a stake in a solar power plant of Acciona.
  • Advisory to the management team in the sale of Aktua to Lindorff.
  • The creation of Healthcare Activos Yield, the defense of Altadis and subsequent purchase by Imperial Tobacco, the takeover of Sacresa by Metrovacesa and defense of Metrovacesa in the takeover of Quarta/Astrim aswell as the takeover of Dufry over Aldeasa.
  • The mergers of Altamar Capital Partners and CAM Alternatives, Iberdrola and Iberdrola Renovables, Ferrovial and Cintra, ACS and Dragados and of Metrovacesa and Bami.
  • Additionally, he possesses ample experiences in IPO’s and the ones of Vocento, Técnicas Reunidas, Galp Energia, Cintra, AENA and Saeta Yield (ACS) are to be highlighted.
  • Ample experience in other type of transactions such as the share placement in the Stock Exchange of shares of ACS by CF Alba, of Técnicas Reunidas by the Lladó family, the follow-on of Iberdrola, the convertible of Amorim over Galp, rights issuance of National Express, the reverse ABB of ACS over stock of Iberdrola and the convertible of BES over EDP.
  • During the development of his career, José has advised big corporates such as Ferrovial, Cintra, Iberdrola, Repsol, Galp, Sacyr, Red Eléctrica, Applus, etc. in the definition of their strategy and financing of such, as well as the issuance of a great variety of financial instruments.
